It started something  like this.

 In my previous life a I was a REALTOR.  I spent many a Tuesday at Klamath Livestock Auction talking ranches ,cows, horses and enjoying  my time with John Goodell,  Jimmy Mitchel, and Jim Bob Fowler.  Wayne Hastings from Hastings Dairy brought in an aged Holstine cow who had been producing too much milk, slowing down the milking line.  My reputation for having a tender heart for every lost or lonely critter that came through the auction paid off.  In came the gal who worked the small animals and over to me she paraded.

" Teresa", she said,

"You need this cow.

She is so sweet" 

by sundown that night the old cow was in my one acre pasture on Altamont Dr. and I was the proud new owner of 4, one  day old drop calves from Hastings Dairy. The cow became a family pet with the kids riding her all around the field. The next summer my dad offered for her and her next batch of calves to spend the summer at his place on Cross Roads.  ( Meeker Farms). I later learned my dad was kind of showing off to the neighbors how she could raise 4 calves while their cows could only raise one.    Her reputation had preceded her.  Dick Meeker always had an eye for opportunities to turn a hundred dollar bill into two hundred. He liked all the old guys stopping into talk about this wonder cow!

Two Shares Monthly Boarding Fee $174.00

2nd you pay the monthly boarding fee

( the first of every month)

Here is sort of how it goes! Your purchase of an undivided interest into my herd of dairy cows, costs you $50.00 per share. You agree to pay me $ 86.00 per month to take care of your share of your cow. (feed, water ,pet, love brush, milk and bottle up your milk).​ You get one gallon of milk per week from your share in the herd for trade.
